The season is over totally over. We're going to end up several games under 500 which is really sad! A guess here but from here on out I'd expect the arena less than half full. We can't blame one injury for the total collapse here.
Last years recruiting class was pathetic. That is what is killing this team was last years recruiting class is a disaster. You bring in four guys and only one is a 4 star player. You totally missed on the top two guys in state that isn't looking positive.
This years recruiting class is looking stronger but I'm thinking he's going to need some of the guys on the current roster to transfer.
This in my view is a pivotal year for CM. He needs to show the program is on the right path by next season. Three recruiting classes in basketball is like an eternity.
Personally I think he needs to bring in some transfers with more experience, and jettison some of the role players who will probably never amount to real starters.
I'm still holding out hope for CM but maybe his defense first approach will never jive with top recruits who just want to score.
Watching boring basketball isn't fun. Hopefully CM can adapt, and score some transfers or another impact player for next year.
This team needs someone who can score. I'll continue to give CM a pass because honestly Giest as I said last year is not an impact player. Puryear is also another very average player both he and Geist have a lot of heart but not enough SKILL to be your star players.
The only thing to really look forward to is finally move out the old players from KA and moving onto a full roster recruited by CM. So that is why I say next year will be a crucial year for him to prove he can lead the program.
McKinney and Jackson both seem to be scoring first players... that is what we need!
Looking forward to fall 2019 to see if the turn around starts! Between now and then I'm hoping for a few transfers and CM to pick up another top freshman and snag a vet transfer.
