Couldn’t even retain the prior commitment of the player from Sedalia, who went on to finish 10th nationally in scoring as a senior at Tennessee instead. Passing on Daniel House in favor of trying to build with freshman was a huge misstep as well. Inheriting Gant and Wright was certainly an initial blessing, and Fuller arranging for Fulford to come in with Teki was huge.

The high point in his tenure was certainly that first offseason. There was at least enough accumulated talent and inherited recruiting that it seemed plausible we could succeed at a marginal level.

Then we actually took the court ....
