a "bad day" is an attempt to show people that they are human.

They made a mistake. And he doesn't want mistake to be misconstrued and applied with a broad brush to all media as being leftists and liars.

It would be like a bank robber who has robbed 46 banks and not been caught, but wink wink we know, getting caught planning the 47th robbery and saying that he had a bad day.

And he doesn't want this to be misconstrued as what he does normally.

But it is what he does normally.
And this is what the media does normally.
