We stand behind our story. The fact that the bill cleans up some language related to gender is not newsworthy information. The true impact of the legislation, as described under the ‘analysis’ section, is to “remove the legal authority for a law enforcement officer to use deadly force in effecting an arrest.”

The legislation would do exactly what the headline says it would. Police are making the claim that it would put officers in danger, and our story reflects that.

Our story is straightforward and portrays the bill fairly & accurately.
