Tennessee made an offer a month ago. We countered, and he was going to get a pay raise.
Tennessee upped the offer astronomically. We sat on it a day, and told him good luck in Tennessee. I think he will be making about $5 million over 3 years.
Mike Bobo (head coach at Colorado State) is making $2 million a year.
We ended up giving Chaney's pay raise to OL coach Sam Pittman ($1.5M per year). Pittman recruits and coaches so well, we feel he is worth it.
We will test the waters for a new OC. We do have 2 coaches on staff with prior OC experience and another coach with prior head coaching experience.
It will be interesting to follow.
