Coaches are looking for adjustments to the targeting rule to make it more in line with the Flagrant Foul rule in college basketball.

Tier 1 would be those hits without malicious intent and would carry a 15 yard penalty but no ejection.

Tier 2 would be those hits deemed malicious and would carry both the 15 yards and ejection from the game.

Also asking for players who receive multiple Tier 2 fouls to be suspended more than one game.

I like the ideas. Too many games have turned on questionable ejections recently. This allows officials a little more leeway in their assessment of borderline hits.

     I hate the ejection part of the current rule - wu-tangtiger MU - 1/9 14:30:30
          At least take into account - Tptiger MU - 1/9 14:45:31
               So many of the targeting calls this season - wu-tangtiger MU - 1/9 18:29:43
     Saban likes the rules as they are. Other teams get called - jumbo73 MU - 1/9 13:52:00
          That target (not called) in the championship game was - bornoncampus MU - 1/9 14:21:05
