waste of resources. Fencing is needed and helpful in areas where there is population on both sides of the border. More people makes it more difficult to control movement in and out without fencing.

In remote areas, it's easy and efficient to monitor crossings with cameras, drones, aircraft, etc...

If you like wasting money, the wall is for you. If you want to control immigration effectively, it's not needed.
