which is why he is falling on his sword for lying that was a dubious charge at best since if you read the 302 that was provided he said he didn't remember and the questions were compound questions. so which part was he answering?
but more importantly, it was neither material nor an obstruction to the FBI investigation. also relevant is that the logan act as a predicate for investigating him in the first place was nonsense.
but it was either plea to that or be charged, along with his son, for FARA violations.
and on that note; as Sal has pointed out this was usually handled civilly. if they want to now start prosecuting for this I'm ok with that. BUT, the Podesta group better be charged right along with everyone else. otherwise, this reeks of an abuse of prosecutorial discretion.
