Was looking at them today. They are going to be a really tough test, even at home.
This week ESPN has them ranked #1 in the nation in their mid major rankings. South Dakota, SD State, Drake, and Green Bay are all high quality teams that would hold their own in the SEC, and by that I don't mean finish top 3-4, but definitely better than maybe 8 SEC teams.
They are sound fundamentally and have very balanced scoring, with their 5 starters averaging 13, 10, 10, 9 and 8 ppg. And the next two off the bench 10 and 6 ppg. They have decent experience, starting one senior, three juniors, one sophomore. They are more our own size, starters going 6'1, 6'0, 5'10, 5'9, 5'7. But their top reserve goes 6'2. Still, more our size as opposed to a number of SEC teams.
Looking at our 2 common opponents should make us concerned. As you said they beat the Green Bay team that beat us in Columbia, playing nothing near their A game. And they handled MO State 85-74, while we struggled to beat them 65-61, again in Columbia.
This will be a very good win tomorrow if we can handle them. We really need to win out in non conference in the worst way, and head into SEC play at 12-2, if we have any intention of making a run at a national seed in the NCAAs.
