I don't personally recognize 2014-15 through 2016-17 as MU basketball. To me we effectively shut down the program and didn't validly field a team in that era.

If you take that perspective, we lost last year based on an atrocious first half performance where we clearly established our second half dominance but simply had built such a hole that we ran out of time in coming back. And we lost by 1 point in 2013-14 when the Illini got fouled and converted both free throws with under 5 seconds to play. Before that we had won 4 straight games.
