is what the article indicated. You don't do it the old tried and true way I've seen so much...run up the middle, run off tackle, pass somewhere on 3rd and long. Apparently it makes more sense to do all that in reverse order, if those are the plays to be used. To me its rather obvious and I don't need fb experience to see it. One reason I'm always concerned when people say a HEAD COACH needs to learn something with more experience. Like, my God, once you're a HC how the hell can you not already know it - at least the simple basics.
However, I will agree that if a team or a lot of teams start passing more on first down, it may become less effective the more its done.
