I'm more refuting the idea that there's something nefarious about writing a report detailing what you did prior to someone investigating you saying what they found out you did.

Assuming the report is factual, they know what's in the report. It's just logical.

Some people even write novels about what they did prior to someone else doing it, they usually call them autobiographies.
