Temple ended the half on a 16-4 run in which a Torrence Watson 3-pointer served as the only glimmer of positivity for the Tigers. After a first half spent aggressively pounding the paint and shooting well from behind the arc, the Tigers found themselves down 10 points at halftime.
So what does Missouri coach Cuonzo Martin think needs to be done to change the Tigers’ late-first-half struggles?
“Studying our lineups. I think that’s the biggest key. Understanding who we have on the floor to give us the best chance. You want to have fresh legs,” Martin said. “Maybe in those two games (Iowa State and Kansas State) I know Jeremiah (Tilmon) was in foul trouble, so he probably wasn’t on the floor.”
Meanwhile, Jordan Geist was quite blunt when asked about what he attributes to Missouri’s inconsistencies.
“It’s me,” Geist said. “I gotta step up and be the energy guy. I’m a senior, a leader, a point guard.”
