NCAA selection show starts at 7:30pm.
We finished 13-5 in the SEC good for 4th place, and it's hard to argue we deserved better, or worse. Kentucky finishes 18-0, Tennessee finishes 16-2, Florida 15-3, and SC and TAMU finish tied for 5th at 10-8.
The SEC is getting 5 teams in the tournament, UK, Tenn, Florida, Mizzou, SC. That's it. UK is fighting for a top 8 seed but I think they end up in the 9-11 range. Florida is still in the running for a seed in the 15-16 range, and there are about 5-6 teams fighting for those last two seeds and home regionals. I don't think the Gators make it, but wherever they go on the road, I like them getting to the sweet 16, that have the talent to do that.
Mizzou? I see them going to someplace nearby, either to Nebraska, a likely 7-8 seed, or Creighton, a likely 10-12 seed. Possible first round opponents in one of those two regionals are Kansas, Kansas State, or Northern Iowa. I don't see any opportunity to get out of a regional at Nebraska. I see a better chance against a Creighton.
If we play our A game I think we have a shot at getting to the sweet 16, with the right bracket. Problem is we are slumping now. Can we turn it on like a light switch?
