I just did Munich/Vienna last month.

I got KC to Munich for about $450 each. If you haven't used Scott's Cheap Flights you should check it out.
Check out Neuschwanstein Castle in Southern Germany and make sure to go further up the mountain to at least the bridge. Also check out the plansee lake a little south of the Castle, it's in Austria and is one of the cooler sites I've seen. We just happened upon it too knew nothing about it until we drove by it.
