Why do you think they can't use the land without a wall?

The wall(fence) cut off the farmers in the Rio Grande from large portions of their crops-requiring the placement of gates for access. Going through those gates for planting and harvesting puts them on land still accessible to illegals-no different than prior to the wall except they have lost hundreds of acres for the wall easement. In some instances the farmers equipment barns and homes ended up on the south side of the wall. It's just not as easy as "build the wall" implies.
