If Trump swings hard right and Dems run on Socialism, there will be millions of people in the middle who disagree with both sides and want to push issues that neither can or will.

Personally, I LOVE the idea. I think it splits the anti-Trump vote, making it harder to elect either a D or I (and increasing the likelihood of re-electing Trump), but having a strong independent choice is EXACTLY what this country needs.
