in which case, most folks would answer, "I don't care". And then there's the practical, which would include all of the things that I listed plus the opportunity to compete in the Olympics for the country of your choosing.

It's no different than the gender debate. I don't care if you call yourself any one of 37 different gender identities, until the impact of that decision has practical, real world implications.
