The college game today is seeing players leave early and wind up overseas. Now the G-League is going to start paying more. That will attract more college players, not less or even the same. MORE. That’s what the NBA wants. More for less. Get them in early and for cheap as possible.
It’s the MLB model. Kids will decide prematurely they want to become a “pro” and or more kids will chase their “dreams” ..... and more than ever will never go to college.
Oh college will always be there - b.s. - no one ever goes back. It’s a Dateline episode if someone does.
It is what it is, the NBA is getting better and wealthier. Kids want to be professionals and get paid to play basketball. College basketball is getting weaker in this evolution and will continue to do so.
Ironically, if the NCAA would just clean up the mess we are witnessing with cash under the table being exposed, more fans would appreciate the NCAA brand for its integrity and spirit. But that’s never going to happen, it seems, so they look like sleazeballs. This makes the “legit” NBA looks even more appealing.
