Simple. Just tell schools that if you sign contracts with Addidas or Nike or let their representatives have access to your programs you face severe sanctions, such as a loss of 1/3 of your scholarships and no distribution of NCAA tournament money.

The primary objective is to deter these activities. What shoe company CEO wants to report to his board that college kids are prohibited from wearing the shoes made by said company during NCAA sanctioned events.


Make an example out of Addidas and Nike to encourage the other companies to clean up their acts.

Of course, we know this will not happen because deterring this activity is not actually an objective of the NCAA. The NCAA's objective is to get as much money as they can.
