Why is it someone points out valid points about the head coach at Mizzou and then some idiot true fan of Mizzou will bash you for saying it?

Why do people on this board say you're NOT a true fan of Mizzou if you call a spade a spade?

Kim Anderson was the single worst hire in Mizzou history (btw that is a compliment to Odom because he's second) and when you'd point this out people would go crazy because he's a true Mizzou son.

Kim Anderson had NO DIVISION 1 experience, nothing to sell, nothing to build off of, and he brought with him a different style of disipline (old school). We saw how that worked, player after player transfered. We also saw how that worked as Kenny Anderson couldn't recruit. I would have loved it had it worked out because Mizzou was his dream school and had he turned around the program he would had never left.

With that being said why do you CARE if we hire a Mizzou son, why hire someone who wants to stay for life? Mistake! You need to hire the best person for the job. Okay they quit after 3 years, well that would probably mean they turned around the program, meaning they leave it better when they leave than when they showed up. Right?

That is college coaching... those are the risks you take when hiring a potention home run coach. Its Mizzou job to convince that coach to stay meaning pony up the money right?

With all that being said why do you get called out for pointing out the obvious? Woody was probably the biggest disaster of a coach in Mizzou history right? I would say wrong... Woody was a true son, Mizzou was his dream job, but he also had four super bowl rings on his fingers. He was able to recruit some of the best players but as it turns out he couldn't manage a team. Woody wasn't the worst hire because he came in with a lot of experience on the highest level.

Barry on the other came into this job with no experience at all and certainly no super bowl rings. Barry hadn't proved himself as a coach, recruiter or leader. But he was a Mizzou son... big deal. He was a Mizzou player, who wasn't good enough for the NFL, went to some bowl game a million years ago, a guy who never head coached a division one team EVER and somehow that is recipe for success in the S E C ??? Really???

I don't want a Mizzou son I want the best coach possible. So it brings me to my point, why do so many of you have the attitude that 7-6 and a bowl game is awesome? How is last years season great when we didn't beat one team with a winning record? How is great getting destroyed in a bowl game, but leading up to it Mizzou players talked a lot of trash. I'd call that a coach who doesn't have control of his players.

Why do we accept being second or third best? Why can't Missouri a state with more population than every team in the SEC but three... seriously. Tennessee and Mizzoui are essentially tied in population which would put them in a tie but you know the difference between Missouri and Tennessee? Missouri only has ONE major D1 football program whereas Tennessee has several for recruits to think about.

Missouri has the players to make a top 20 program but you need a leader who can recruit those guys. Barry sadly is accepting second best, but in reality like last place.

Why do people say stars don't matter when someone points out we're DEAD LAST right now in recruiting? I'm sure you'd complain if we had more 4 star players right???

Why do we run around accepting being middle to the bottom of the pack. Why re-build the stadium if we're not going for a national championship program?

Why did some really big loser say 'Pinkel was a once in a generation coach for Missouri'. Pinkel was a great coach no doubt but why would you say that because we can't get another good coach because we're Missouri? Alabama has had more than one good coach so has a lot of schools. Why do we think like this? A great coach is hard to replace but the Dallas Cowboys replaced a legend and won three more super bowls... Green Bay replaced a legend and won two more super bowls with two different coaches. Saban left LSU but last time I checked they have kept up the winning tradition even playing in a national championship game against Saben.

Give me a break.

Mizzou is just as fun as any other campus, they have everything you need, just as good as Alabama, but you get passion from fans from success and expecting success. One of the reasons Alabama is successful is the pressure from the fans, donors expecting WINNING as the ONLY option. Finishing 10-2 to them is failure yet Mizzou finishing 7-6 is success.

If you want Mizzou to be successful then you need to expect success, demand success, and you do that with your pocket book. If Saban finished the season at 10-3 his hefty contract, demand from fans and donars put the pressure on him to figure out what went wrong. Our coaching staff and admins celebrated not beating a signle winning team last year with an extention for Odom. The admins over at Mizzou read the tea leaves when they see excitment over a 7-6 season they will allow it to continue because football is money to them nothing else. If Mizzou fans demand and accept 7-6 that is what you will get, demand an approach of winning is the only option and you'll see change.

A true fan would DEMAND they have a coach who's not the lowest paid in the conference. We would demand a coach with experience, track record, and then and ONLY then do our part and support that coach with our money.

This loser mentality around here isn't good.

The writing is on the wall same as Kenny Anderson its time for Barry to go, a job he should have never been hired for in the first place. Mizzou fans should expect championship aspirations and demand that from our leadership pressure them otherwise feel our wrath.

No one should attend a Mizzou football game, the same way all the elite talent isn't buying into what Odom is selling so they go somewhere else. Its time to put this mistake behind us and DEMAND they put forth the money and effort to attract the right coach otherwise you're just a loser who thinks losing in general is acceptable.

Losing is part of life but doesn't mean you should accept it as a tradition. Time to go for it.
