Um, nothing can prepare you for a surprise attack from a nutjob who can have a knife in you 4-5 times before you even know what is happening. Be aware of your surroundings, don't run with your ear buds in and music cranked, and maybe those areas where gentrification is the popular place for revitalizing urban blight turned to sh*t originally for a reason.
