Every weekday morning each year from around the end of August until the middle of May, save for holidays, Darrell Arthur gleefully awakens and ready for school. You see, Arthur is a large black male who can play basketball at a high level, unlike pretty much all students at South Oak Cliff High School. And unlike pretty much all students at South Oak Cliff High School, Arthur is fvcking dumb, so dumb in fact, grades were changed for him to even pass high school. So dumb that he struggles to read beyond a pre-school level and sometimes forgets how to spell his own name. So dumb that he makes his future college coach, Bill Self, actually seem intelligent. But he loves school because he doesn't have to do shyt but ball.
