I believe most of those high major schools that were recruiting him, with the exception of maybe Illinois, were also thinking along the line of red shirting him because they are pretty set in their front courts this year. Now this is me speculating based on those other situation and the so called promise of a scholarship from Mizzou

#1 this is still a yet to be determined situation similar to CVL’s and he still could red shirt
#2 this walk on year is to determine whether or not he shows the development to warrant a scholarship
#2 he wanted to come to Mizzou and if he was going to not play and red shirt why not hear
#4 since he's already committed to walking on, they can wait on that determination


The front court is already crowded this year and they are adding Mitchell Smith. In truth Braun is not needed but would be better needed with the departure of Puryear and Jontay. If you add Liddell and everything works out is positive on Braun you replace those two and Braun is another big man that fits the style CM wants to play
