The Heisman recipient is supposed to be the "most outstanding player in college football". That not the "most talented", "most pro potential", "best rushing or passing numbers", etc.
"Most outstanding" is like "beauty", it is in the eye of the beholder or in this case the Heisman voters.
With all due respect to a number of posters below, what did Lock do in the first two games that made him the "most outstanding player in college football" either week.
Lock has the potential and will likely have the opportunity to prove he's the "most outstanding player in college football", i.e. the Georgia and Alabama games obviously, perhaps others. But the fact he's not high on some people's lists at this stage of the season is not the least bit surprising.
In many respects the Heisman is an "election" and the Tiger AD doesn't seem to be running much of a campaign for Lock.
