There are only three reasons for the Mueller investigation.

1. To attempt to obstruct discovery of the Obama Admin's wide ranging DOJ/FBI/Media conspiracy to first prevent a Trump Presidency and failing that, to interfere with Trump's administration of federal government. As long as Mueller went about tormenting and threatening those in the Trump circle, the conspirators could claim investigations of their criminality was a ruse intended to mask interference with and obstruct of Mueller's all important probe.

2. On the remote chance that Mueller does turn up something or force a satellite to flip and assert anything approaching criminality on the part of Trump or his immediate household, he might be able to format an impeachment case acceptable to the American people.

3. Buy time for the Dems to regain control of one or both Houses of Congress.
