Sessions had to recuse himself. Trump was/is stupid enough to think the AG works for him and not the country. Sessions followed protocol. Trump tried to squash it himself asking Comey to drop charges against Flynn and firing him for not doing so. This is just what happened. Wallace simply reminded people of it.
