manafort committed crimes but did we need a special prosecutor to figure that out? no. would he have been prosecuted had he not been associated with Trump? doubtful. nothing illegal about squeezing someone but the judge nailed it.
was the special prosecutor appointed under, let's say, "odd" circumstances? yeah, i think Comey leaking information to the press for the sole purpose of getting his buddy appointed as special prosecutor is a bit odd.
was the special prosecutor's mandate overly broad? i think so.
did Mueller needlessly complicate his situation by hiring a team of Democrats? Yes. their credibility will always be questioned b/c it's a partisan effort. don't get me started on Mueller is a Republican. A. not proven since 2001 and B. plenty of never trumpers (see Comey)
Did Mueller try to hide the bias of Strozk and Page? Yes by staggering their terminations from the team although their animus was discovered at the same time and then he didn't tell the public why they were removed but instead tried to bury it.
