didn't he resign months ago?

Did he think he was going to get better? He hadn't been to DC in months. Hasn't voted much at all this year.

What if his vote was needed to confirm...or deny...a SCOTUS appointment?

Wouldn't a selfless public servant, worthy of lying in state in the rotunda, have stepped aside so the people of arizona could have a full time representative who could serve on committees and vote for important measures?

Remember, obama care passed by a single vote, iirc. SCOTUS votes will all be close. Did he stay "in the senate" because he thought he could serve again or did he not want a replacement who may be more to trump's liking?
