necessarily. And Hofstra had two really good pitchers that ended up transferring (one to Bama and the other to Syracuse). We would have almost certainly got at least one of them if Hofstra didn't block Mizzou for several weeks (when all other non-CAA schools could contact them). Coach Anderson was not very happy with Hofstra from what I have heard.
If we had hired an SEC assistant or another head coach from somewhere else, I'm not sure they would have brought pitching with them. You can't really know that when you are making the hire. The student athlete has to get their release and presumably would have to visit here and select us over other schools. It just doesn't seem likely that a coach would interview for the job and indicate that Player X is definitely coming with me.
