pillar of righteousness and hurl sanctions, angry rhetoric, and essentially stomp their feet in indignation at Russia (and N. Korea) - as if this is a board game.

The approach to Russian and N. Korea, on the other hand, appears to be to view the US as Daddy and Russia as the misbehaving adult child - reprimand, threaten, punish or be accused of coddling and adoring if you dare speak to them.

As disdainful as tariffs are, they have clearly come along with constant, ongoing discussions and communication and stated intent. I will stomach the approach only as long as I feel it is part of a negotiation.
