me is that Trump is not a conservative; not a Republican by any real measure - but rather just a nationalist who is as big a threat to the deep state Rs as he is the Ds.

That's what I see.

Nationalist? yes
Amateur and sophomoric? yes
Mysoginist? Sure
Utterly unpresidential? lol you bet

But does he actually want to do what he thinks is right for the country, the "nation state" (gasp!) - yup.

He aligns with conservatives enough that the anti-abortionists accept him. The Nationalism resonates with plenty of Americans - D and R mainstream blue and white collar alike.
