The CA wildfires are more a result of the “Smokey the Bear effect”. We’ve prevented wildfires that once occurred regularly and often naturally. This has allowed for
Underbrush to become overgrown and more fuel for fires. Now, are the droughts possibly worse, the heat longer lived in the West? Sure. But it’s likely only a small cause for these massive fires.
