Historically, when Rs had a chance to get a bigger piece of the black vote, they tried to out-lib the libs. They pandered more. They lowered standards. They had "outreach."

You don't win the heart and soul of someone by giving them candy or obama phones. You win the battle for someone's soul based on principles, ideology, respect and honesty.

"This is what we stand for. If you agree, join us."

The Rs historically have said, "This is what we stand for. But if you want to come over, we can change this, we can modify that, we can add this and we can make this go away."

They need to appeal to the person, not the race. Treat people as individuals not as a monolithic group.

That is the mistake the socialists made.

It will probably be repeated by the republicans. Because republicans are stupid.
