I understand that mis characterization

I didn't say he was fat. He does need to lose some of that body fat that was mentioned to him in the combine and lean out that's all. I don't know if you got to see any of his combine testing. You could tell he needs more conditioning, which has nothing to do with his skills. Jontay came in last year late and was well behind the rest of the team in conditioning. That showed up during the early part of the season. Yes it is a part of natural maturation but strength and conditioning accelerates the process. He didn't round into shape for college basketball until near conference play. As it turns out I think that was fortunate for all who didn't want to see him leave. I'm willing to bet you'll see a different player this year.
