Although Missouri’s latest draft pick, Michael Porter Jr., won’t be suiting up for the Denver Nuggets during the NBA Summer League, one of Porter’s former teammates and several other ex-Tigers will be hitting the court for NBA teams this summer.
Recent graduate Jordan Barnett went undrafted last month but landed on the summer league roster of the Milwaukee Bucks, which will compete in the Las Vegas portion. He’ll get his first chance at making an NBA roster at 6 p.m. Friday against the Detroit Nuggets.
Less recently, former Missouri standout Phil Pressey will compete with the Oklahoma City Thunder’s team as he looks to get back into the NBA after playing from 2013-16 with the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers.
Pressey, who also went undrafted back in 2013, spent last season in Spain with Barcelona but did not make an appearance. The Thunder begin play at 4:30 p.m. Friday against the Charlotte Hornets.
Former Missouri and Gonzaga forward Johnathan Williams III went undrafted in June and will fight for his chance to play alongside LeBron James with the Los Angeles Lakers’ team. The Lakers get started at 10:30 p.m. Friday against the 76ers.
