Constantly have the pitcher throw to first base with a runner on that base.
Tues night with a five run lead in the top of the 8th inning, freshman pitcher Ash walks the first guy he faced on four pitches. Often freshmen pitchers who don't get much action have command & focus issues.
Okay, we are up by five in the 8th with a runner on 1st. No prob, let's just concentrate on getting the batter out. NO. Bieser has Ash throw to 1st three times before delivering a pitch to the next batter. Wtf & why? This happens constantly & I think it's stupid. Stop dividing the young pitchers' attention.
