find the guy tolerable not because they agree with his morality, because I'd imagine most don't.

They tolerate him because he doesn't call them bigots, xenophobes, racists and any other vile name (always clothed in reasoned tones and subtle message) because they don't embrace without reservation all the various demographic subgroups and what they would see as perverted lifestyles the secular humanist world tries to force down their throat.
