After my daughter's softball practice we dropped by Quicktrip so that she could get a drink. We are waiting in line for a cashier, and the lady behind us just literally walks around us without saying anything and proceeds to check out. There was no delay or reason whatsoever for her to think bypassing us was ok.
I took the register next to her while she paid and explained to my kids in a clearly audible voice directed mostly at her, "The lesson isn't whether or not you should be a terrible person, because you are already old enough to know doing something like this idiot just did makes you a terrible person. The lesson is that there are terrible people around you, and you have to be prepared to handle sharing space with people so dumb."
She similarly said I shouldn't talk like that around kids. I said my kids are considerably more mature and aware of their surroundings than she is, and given that she had a head start on us by cutting she should go ahead and leave so my kids didn't hear me start yelling at an idiot.
I hate that kind of crap, and hate that it caused me to get so angry. But she deserved it. Never did apologize or act in any way remorseful.
