Most people who have abortions are on birth control. The pill had a huge roll in unleashing the sexual revolution, and now we're living through it. Abortion is seen as a sort of 'backup' plan if contraception fails. Of course asking someone in this day and age to live without the pill is like asking them to live without toilet paper.

There used to be built in reasons why you stayed away from the kind of activity that would cause a pregnancy whether single or in a family.

Not calling for a return to the victorian age and puritanism, but libs love to suppress the kind of info that shows what long term use of the pill can do to women.
