Shooting that much more increases the chance efficiency drops. As for as evidence is concerned Isabelle has shown he can do that. I’d take a volume shooter at .47 over a .43 limited shooter. Now I can hear two opinions coming. Geist had other players to do that. My response would be that will be in question this upcoming season. Do you think he’ll put up that many more shots next season then this? The other, which is old and tired at this point, Isabelle didn’t do it on a P6 level. I think by now we should have learned not to use this one and let each individual situation go on its on merit
There is no evidence that any player on a losing team can be effective on a winning team until he’s with one. That logic would apply to every player here prior to this year. A better question, for me anyway, does that team lose because of him or would they be losing more without him.
The differentiation for me would be play making ability. Some are just limiting this to simple ball handling, being able to get the ball up court for a point guard is just basic. It’s the ability to help make plays for your team mates. It’s the opposition not wanting the ball in your hands rather than trying to make sure it is. A player averaging 7 assist pg, despite shooting, says he is more than just a shooter. It’s his ability to hit shots that can facilitate that. That is not easy, Exhibit A being Kassius Robertson.
To end this for me, what I dislike about this is it makes you seem against a player. I like Geist in a limited role as a point guard and think him better served off ball. I would like seeing what Isabelle could do for this team. We just disagree on his being able to help this team next year. We do agree, apparently though, that it’s unlikely he will be here to do so.
** I made a mistake and posted Isabell's rebound number (7.1) as his assist number which is (3.4). **
