first, you have to have enough jobs - and yes, I realize you can make 2 jobs with one digging the ditch and the other filling it in, but there still have to be enough. How are you going to motivate someone to do more than the $15 hour job? Do I want to exert myself digging a ditch for $15 hour if someone else gets paid that for parking cars or picking up trash? How do you arrive at relative value? At least in the free market scenario, there's a willing buyer or it's not created. If I'm guaranteed a $15 job, what's my incentive to do a good job? I mean, if I'm a lazy sloth, I show up, get my $15 and do nothing. Plus, you have to pay for that, and other costs are going to be pushed up as a result.
