Programs like Kentucky and Duke, North Carolina, can work with 1 & done's that project well into the NBA.
Because we can't get multiple 1 & dones each year, programs like Mizzou will thrive when they have talented players who, because of their size, just don't project into a prototypical NBA position. Some of our best teams/players in the recent era includes tweeners like:
Arthur Johnson, a center too small to be an NBA center
Laurence Bowers, a SF/PF too small to be that position in the NBA (and not good enough 3-pont shooter)
Phil Pressey - very talented, very short
Kim English - a SF in a SG body. Didn't handle the ball well enough to be an NBA guard
Mike Dixon - a PG/SG who was also very short.
The prototypical guys are gonna leave early. The 'tweeners are gonna stay, because they don't have a choice with the NBA.
