With Crockett & Rountree healthy the entire year, an offensive line firing on all cylinders, and a freshened receiving core, the Tigers score early and often in nearly every game.
That leaves the defense. The smoldering remains of D-Line Zou have been reforged into a more complex formulation that fails the first test at Alabama, but not the second in Atlanta.
