He's the perfect example.

Every year, kU swoops in at the last minute and adds a player or two who has rumors of being bought.

And,, as an Illini fan, I'm not naive enough to think all programs don't play in the grey area, but Self did grow frustrated with the limits placed on him by the AD/compliance at Illinois. kU is a better job, but he also wanted free reign like he has had at kU.
