1. Ignore RBI's. It's a meaningless stat.

2. Consider WAR, Schmidt's was sky high compared to Rolen and Robinson for that matter.

3. For how many years was he an elite player? That's my go-to HOF criteria, if they were dominant at their position for at least a decade. Rolen has 8 or 9 years in that category, so he's probably on the bubble.
