Staying in Columbia would have been a nightmare, especially if KA had somehow been able to convince Porter Sr and MPJr to stay and commit to MU. That would have saved KA's job and it would have just been a disaster.

Porter Sr. added an important year to his resume, the family was able to experience a new environment and realize how much they valued Columbia.
