design right in terms of transition baskets and backdoor cuts to the basket?
We struggle mightily in controlling turnovers out of the fact that we have zero point guards on our roster, and are utilizing an under athletic shooting guard out of position in that role out of necessity. Even playing at a very slow pace, our turnover often balloon out of control. So as the season has progressed considerable effort has been made towards controlling pace and limiting turnovers.
We don't have any playmakers, other than Robertson to a degree. So our offensive design is around spacing and playing outside in and then for kickouts. Cuts to the basket other than after a ball reversal would just disrupt that, we are trying to occupy that space by our bigs trying to establish position and still maintain good angles and spacing for kick outs to our shooters. That is just not the system we run, we are trying to design an offensive approach around the assets we have available. Hence my pointing out we have been around a top 50 caliber offense all year, which is rather remarkable given our best offensive player isn't playing and we have no point guard which are typically the two most important aspects of an offense.
