Longer wait periods to acquire all guns. Three days for handguns is a start but maybe a week or more even to cross reference social media posts, mental health screenings, family relationships/history.
Require a background check for ALL sales of guns. No more person to person sales, no more gun shows with zero background checks.
Put forth and pass extreme risk protection orders that can temporary remove firearms from individuals deemed to be a danger to themselves or others.
Up the age nationwide for gun purchases to at least 21. Though, 25 may be better given that's when cognitive development is over.
Create harsh mandatory minimum sentences for people found with illegal/stolen/modified guns.
Nationwide gun buybacks.
See, lots of ideas. You have literally done nothing in this argument but wave your arms in the air.
