“You still have to practice and gets reps under your belt,” Martin said Friday. “It’s not like he went down two weeks ago. That’s a long time of not getting up and down the court, the physical part of it, the conditioning, the cutting, the plays.”
“The first thing is you always try to do what’s best,” Martin said. “What’s best is not always ideal for everybody involved. I’ll make that decision. We’ll make that decision and decide what’s best whenever that time presents itself, whenever that is.
“The one thing that makes it good is he has a competitive spirit. He wants to play. He wants to compete. He wants to be on the floor. But you have to take all factors into consideration when you’re dealing with this. And not just the status of playing at the next level, but just the health of going through it.”
